Building Bridges

Between 2022 and 2024, our pilot programme Closing the Gap successfully supported six innovative initiatives to bridge divides between local policymakers and cultural operators, fostering cultural participation and cooperation. Building on this success, we are now launching Building Bridges, a new advocacy initiative especially dedicated to igniting dialogue and fostering cooperation on initiatives that promote cultural participation and sustainable development.

The programme is designed to help socio-cultural centres consolidate their role in promoting sustainable and just transitions within the cultural ecosystem.

Through a series of six roundtables hosted by various socio-cultural centres in different regions of Europe and beyond, the programme will facilitate constructive dialogue between diverse stakeholders, including cultural and civil society organisations, local authorities, and policymakers, and create opportunities for the forging of new alliances and networks. These roundtables are intended to help participants address key challenges, share best practices, and collaborate.

Building Bridges is part of our broader efforts to support the development of cultural centres and strengthen their role in driving positive social change at the local level.
