A Vértes Agorája

Tatabánya, Hungary

A Vértes Agorája, a division of Agora Nonprofit Ltd., serves as a cultural and educational hub dedicated to developing and enriching the cultural life of Tatabánya, while balancing tradition and innovation.

As a diverse and multicultural city, Tatabánya’s cultural centre places strong emphasis on local identity, values, and community characteristics. A key part of its mission is community development, fostering age-specific thematic initiatives that strengthen and support active communities.

A Vértes Agorája is committed to creating new traditions, introducing alternative community development approaches, and organising a wide range of events, including concerts, exhibitions, workshops, talent-spotting initiatives, and career fairs. Beyond its central role in the city, it functions as a network of cultural centres, managing four autonomous cultural spaces within Tatabánya. Additionally, it leads a council of cultural centres supporting nine villages in the surrounding region, providing technical and professional assistance to enhance cultural engagement across the area.
