The next Shortcut conference will be held from May 17 to May 19th, 2017 in Aarhus, Denmark. The theme is “New models for participation, education and learning in cultural centres”, and it will aim to present research results, to make broader connections between stakeholders and innovators involved with the topic, and to share future perspectives for CC models.
Invention and transformation cannot emerge within our societies witout a cultural and political context that allows empowerment, togetherness and openness. They are based on the citizens’ ability to develop imagination and critical thinking, to tackle change and to acquire knowledge, know-how, and skills. Informal education and citizenship are at the core of the mission of Cultural centres, which offer spaces for socialisation, learning and confronting.
This conference is co-organised by the ENCC, the Association of Cultural Centres in Denmark, Aarhus University and Cultural Production Centre Godsbanen (DK) in cooperation with ECOC Arhus 2017.
In a context of globalisation, digitalisation and changing societies, what new modes of participation are emerging from the current social and political context? How will we learn and share knowledge in the future? What are the perspectives of evolution for cultural centres to strengthen their engagement with contemporary European societies & audiences? What type of cooperation should we build with other sectors in order to sustain our actions?
The programme will include both plenary conferences & participative workshops.
