Carpintarias de São Lázaro

Carpintarias de São Lázaro (CSL) is an independent, multidisciplinary cultural centre in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal. Originally a furniture manufacturer, the non-profit CSL opened to the public in 2019 after signing a 30-year agreement with the City of Lisbon. CSL’s programme includes visual arts, music, performing arts, conferences, and gastronomy. Its cultural offerings are regularly featured in local and international press.

Since opening, CSL has hosted over 50 visual arts exhibitions, 150 concerts and performances, and several artist residencies supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Luso-American Foundation. Renovations completed in 2018 created a unique space combining two main levels, a mezzanine, and a rooftop overlooking the city centre.
