MAŁOPOLSKI INSTYTUT KULTURY W KRAKOWIE

MALOPOLSKA INSTITUTE OF CULTURE IN KRAKOW
Poland

Małopolski Instytut Kultury (abbr. MIK) is the regional institution, networking and supporting cultural institutions across Malopolska region. Our activities are described by three "R"s: We focus on Region - to rejoin people with their traditions and showcase less known heritage sites. We work with local communities, preparing heritage days - activities that were awarded with Europa Nostra for community engagement. We digitalize heritage We React to new trends and solutions in the sector - networking internationally, nationally and regionally, promoting methodologies that engage local communities, supporting development of our societies and their well-being. We Reflect on social, political and architectural policies, our societies and our activities. Those RRRs make a synergy into Relationship-a crucial feature of our work, expressed by patience, process and long-term involvement. Simply, we know that Culture Cares.

We network ca. 70 cultures centres in the region, but there is still potential to grow and increase that number as there are more cultures centres and local libraries in our region.
