Studentski kulturni centar Kragujevac
Student Cultural Center (SCC) Kragujevac, Serbia, was founded in 1984 on the foundation of the Youth Cultural and Art Society at the University (1977). SCC is a major hub of social and cultural events for students, citizens of Kragujevac (over 170,000), and the Šumadija region (over 2 million inhabitants, 2022 census).
SCC’s mission is to enrich the cultural scene, meet the artistic, educational, and cultural needs of young people, and encourage active participation in creative expression. Through literary, artistic, film, music, and theatre programs, SCC presents contemporary trends in artistic creativity. Its publishing activities support young creators from Kragujevac and the region, promoting and affirming their work. SCC also provides workshops and lectures and preserves intangible cultural heritage through its folklore ensemble.
From the start, SCC has focused on supporting students and young creators, enabling them to express and showcase their ideas to a wider audience. Recently, SCC established a Youth Club, offering space for skill development, creative exploration, and community engagement. SCC has also supported student protests in Serbia on various levels.
SCC has 435 m² of multifunctional event space, audio-visual and IT equipment, and a summer stage hosting up to 700 people.
