As a center of artistic and educational activity, Dorozkarnia Cultural Centre is one of the most active institutions in Warsaw, promoting children and youth amateur artistic activity.
Its main objective is to create a suitable place and atmosphere in order to enable young people from all around Warsaw, especially from Lower Mokotów area, to present their achievements, realise their dreams and aspirations, develop their talents and acquaint themselves better with the world of art.
Child and youth artists not only attend regular weekly classes, but also take actively part in cyclic workshops and weekend stage presentations.
Like all cultural centers in the city, Dorożkarnia welcomes children and youth from all around Warsaw and it is especially with them in mind that a few dozens of various workshops and artistic groups are organised in several fields: fine arts and ceramics classes, vocal studio, film workshops, theatre groups, dance groups and other specialist forms of artistic activity.
Dorożkarnia is located in a special place - in the Warsaw district of Siekierki - an area which, until recently, was considered socially backward and underdeveloped in terms of civilisation. Thus, daily activity takes into account the needs of the local community and Dorożkarnia also implements specific projects addressed to children and youth from Siekierki district. The aims are to try to help them with their specific problems, educate and entertain them, as well as motivate them towards creative work.
Dorożkarnia location influences the character and mission of our center, although it does not strictly define it.
While implementing its educational and cultural program, Dorożkarnia organizes and participates in many significant cultural events and projects at local/municipal level, but also at voivodeship (regional), national and international levels.
