We're very happy to have five new additions to the ENCC community since September 2020. New expertise, new horizons and new cooperation perspectives!
As with all our members, these organisations are making space for European cooperation and networking, in spite of the huge job they're already doing on the ground locally. We look forward to meeting them face-to-face as soon as possible.
Without further ado, please welcome:
- 1 national network of cultural centres: the Network of the Regional Cultural Centres of Luxembourg – Founded in 2008, the "Réseau" is the only network of regional cultural centres in Luxembourg, currently representing 10 cultural centres with very different profiles, all located outside of Luxembourg-City. They are the privileged counterpart of Luxembourg’s government when it comes to implementing the 2018-2028 national cultural development plan. The Réseau is very interested in learning from the operating modes of similar networks and their cultural centres, and in the ENCC's focus on socioculture.
- 1 regional network of cultural centres: Lavanderia a Vapore - Centre for Dance Residencies (Piedmont, Italy) – Located in what was once the laundry of Italy’s biggest psychiatric hospital, Lavanderia a Vapore is now a space where artists have the opportunity to express their own creativity, carrying out their research and build relationships on a local, national and international level. They are expert in audience engagement and territorial development through artistic activities.
- 1 local network of cultural centres: Spazju Kreattiv (our first member from Malta!) – Produced by Fondazzjoni Ċentru Għall-Kreattività and hosted in a 16th century fort, their creative art and cultural events take place in the context of a growing cultural creative scene in Malta, and happen all over the island. They have a strong expertise in creative and cultural industries.
- 1 individual cultural centre: Rosenfeld Palace (our first member from Slovakia!) – Based in a beautiful Art Nouveau monument, this cultural centre is expert in performing arts, and particularly known for its permanent exhibition, 'Puppets in the Attic'. In joining the ENCC, they are especially looking for cooperation about sustainable development, ecology, cultural and natural heritage protection and promotion.
- 1 associated member: Vocational Training Center Margarita (Greece) – This specialized centre for vocational training and employment, located in Athens, is expert in disabilities and inclusion. For them, art isn’t just a medium of self-understanding and expression, but also supports the communication and the autonomy of people with intellectual disabilities. Thus, they are strong advocates for Art & Culture and believe that it should be a priority for the EU, including in terms of budget!
