Across Europe, cultural centres engage citizens in a variety of artistic and social activities. But what are the their characteristics, what kinds of citizen participation take place in them, and to what effects? This has been investigated in RECcORD, a European research project involving 38 cultural centers and researchers Birgit Eriksson, Carsten Stage and Camilla Møhring Reestorff from Aarhus University.
With the successful conference at Godsbanen in Aarhus, Denmark, in May 2017, the 2-year research project came to its conclusion. We want to express our deep gratitude to all involved in the project, particularly the RECcORDERS and the cultural centres that hosted them.
This was a project about participation, but without your active participation and strong long-term commitment, it would never have been possible!
