Many thanks for the immense participation in this pilot initiative, both in submissions and in the voting process. In total, there were 8.755 votes along all submissions and strands.
We, at the ENCC, are extremely enthusiastic about the support and interest in sustainable initiatives across Europe. We will continue the work we do in sustainability with our Seeds of Sustainability (SOS) project, and hope other cultural centres will too.
We received many interesting and innovative projects geared toward local sustainability and the selection process was not easy. All submissions were evaluated by a panel of internal and external experts, aimed at identifying the best practices in terms of innovation, the involvement of the local community, impact, relevance and awareness building. The score each submission received was a combination of online, public votes and the mark of the experts.
The ENCC is appreciative of everyone's participation in this initiative as the goal is to increase the visibility of best practices in terms of sustainability and its local community impact. We will be transitioning into the next phase in which the ENCC will directly cooperate with and support the five submissions with the highest combined score. We will be gathering all these best practices as a resource-based document that will assist other cultural centres in inspiration and in implementing future projects. More to come soon on this!
