The UPscale initiative ups the stakes, and doubles down on sustainability.
The ENCC is currently running a pilot project to encourage sustainability in cultural centres. The UPscale initiative seek to pave the way for the improvement of the communities that need it most, but also to showcase initiatives that can be recreated elsewhere
We're happy to announce that our partnership with TrikeGo (IT) is allowing us to award a bonus prize.
This prize, an electric assistance cargo bike, will be awarded to one project. A preselection of the 15 best projects will be made by a jury of experts, and the final selection will be made by two experts from the jury (one from TrikeGo and one from the ENCC board).
About the prize
The cargo bike improves the pedal transportation of people or goods in town and allows access to zones where traffic is limited. For a cultural/social organisation, it helps improve sustainable efficiency as well as offering many new ways to interact with the community (transport, communication, mini travelling productions and more).
The cargo bike is made from durable and light steel. It can carry a load of about 100 kilos and will travel at an average speed of 13km/h when full, and about 20km/h when empty. The cargo bike is also safe, as it stands by itself and does not require feet to ground to maintain balance.
To make this prize further accessible, the ENCC will contribute up to 200 euros towards shipping the prize.
