As a federative association of cultural centres, ACC is responsible for reflection, expert analysis and research on various aspects of the problems that concern the cultural centres of the French-Speaking Community of Belgium.
Created in 1978, the Association of the cultural centers of the French-speaking Community of Belgium (ACC) - is a non-profit association whose members are all cultural centers of Wallonia and Brussels, but also other associations of the socio-cultural sector. ACC represents 115 cultural centers (11 in Brussels and 104 in Wallonia).
ACC develops activities to reinforce the promotion, coordination and cooperation between cultural centers in the French-speaking community and abroad; creates the necessary synergies for the partnerships between ACC, the authorities and the non-profit sector on the role of cultural centers at local, regional and community levels. ACC interfaces with authorities, media and other non-profit organizations of the French-speaking community.
ACC also organizes brainstorming and training sessions for managers and professionals of the cultural centers, publishes two newsletters (ACC-Express / Infolettre) and a magazine (La Vie des Centres culturels) and supports cultural center projects through the "Ethias-ACC" prize.
Finally, ACC represents the employees of the cultural centers and is one of the founding members of the Confederation of Employers of Sport and Socio-Cultural Sectors (CESSoC). It is also a member of the Committee of Cultural Centers (Commission des Centres culturels, 3C), advisory council on cultural matters and of the cultural committee of the Union of Cities and Municipalities of Wallonia (Union des Villes et Communes de Wallonie).
