Cultural centre Cerknica — Diverse cultural events for sustainable future, inspired by unique natural surroundings!
Cultural centre Cerknica is legally part of Notranjska regional park. The organisation aims to create an inspiring and collaborative atmosphere to organise, share and reflect artistic and cultural experiences. Cultural centre Cerknica organises around 150 events of different types annually (cultural events at the venue, environmental events etc). The core activity of the organisation is to provide high quality artistic events for the local inhabitants, to provide high quality art cinema programme, concerts, theatre shows and children's theatre performances, but also to collaborate actively with local artists and cultural organisations. They are an active member of the national network of cultural centres, KUDUS, and of the national arts cinema network. Their ambition is to become a recognisable cultural organisation with highly valuable artistic and cultural events, which would actively connect and involve local community and to launch the initiatives around opening new venues for cultural and artistic expression in the region. The idea is to involve exceptional natural landscape of Notranjska regional park into the events and to create strong environmental identity of cultural events, organised by Cultural centre Cerknica.
