The Arts Management Studio at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications in Zlín focuses on educating leaders in the field of cultural and creative industries who incorporate values such as inclusivity, sustainability, equality, accessibility, international or interdisciplinary collaboration, and well-being into their activities and approaches.
The studio aims to prepare versatile managers in the organisation and management of artistic practices in cultural and creative industries, in art and design, and in the commercial and non-commercial sectors.
They provide students with the opportunity to participate in international and local projects and apply their acquired theoretical knowledge into practice. They organise an international summer school, invite foreign and local lecturers and experts, and collaborate with organisations throughout the Czech Republic. The studio also aims to develop the Zlín region while reflecting on the cultural scene throughout Czech Republic and abroad.
Through excursions, outdoor workshops, and study trips, the studio enables students to explore contemporary cultural environments and subsequently reflect and innovate together. The Arts Management Studio offers opportunities for students to organise and manage cultural events and institutions, creating a desire and enthusiasm for event realization and personal projects in the fields of culture, design, and art. The studio focuses on what makes Zlín unique, which is design, start-ups, and creative industries, and aims to bring culture and art to Zlín.
The interdisciplinary collaboration is vital to the Arts Management Studio, with the fusion of students from different previous studies and teachers from various fields within and outside the FMK. The studio emphasizes individual teaching, practice, and artistic research. The G18 faculty gallery is an integral part of the studio, offering further forms of education, creative workshops, lectures, and concerts, as well as opportunities for meetings of various communities and enthusiasts. Graduates of the Arts Management Studio can find employment as managers and producers in the field of fine arts and design in the commercial and non-commercial sectors.
