Paraskevi (Vivian) Doumpa is a Greece-based urban planner and geographer, conducting research as well as developing and coordinating projects in the intersection of urbanism, (creative) placemaking, community building and cultural management.
She is affiliated to Greek and international organisations, such as:
- Creativity Platform NGO in Greece (founding member),
- STIPO BV in the Netherlands (associate partner),
- and the Busking Project in Colombia (independent researcher)
She is also an alumna of the START: Create Cultural Change program, a program of the Robert Bosch Stiftung, conducted in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki, and the German Association of Sociocultural Centers.
“My professional work and my purpose as citizen is to activate the community/ies and cultivate the field for the creation and development of the socio-cultural mentality and their hubs/centers in Greece, while linking and networking them nationally and international with other similar initiatives. In addition, along with fellow colleagues we promote the professionalisation of the socio-cultural manager and the establishment of the socio-cultural centers in Greece as structures that facilitate and host both professional and amateur creation.”
