Centrum Kultury Podgórza (CKP) is a cultural institution of the City of Krakow. Over 35 years of activity, it has become one of the most significant creative spots on the cultural map of Krakow and its Podgórze district.
Due to its structure, comprised of 18 clubs (including Teatr Praska 52 and Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Solvay), CKP carries out broad and diverse artistic and educational activity. It is responsible for organising concerts, exhibitions, performances and events preserving and promoting local tradition and history. It offers numerous workshops and courses including dance, art, pottery, handicraft, musical education and theatre. CKP allows children and youth, as well as adults and senior citizens to develop their hobbies and sharing them with others within numerous art groups and teams.
A major field of CKP's activities is programming events aiming at integration of families by spending free time together.
Why going European?
"We want to become still more real creators of culture in our environment, to allow everyone benefiting from our activity to express themselves best, and also to assimilate cultural variety."
Going European is a way for Centrum Kultury Podgórza of:
- participating in various projects,
- being part of mutual staff exchanges and trainings,
- observing different programmes and organisations' solutions,
- transplanting the best practices along with mutual respect of cultural diversity.
Noticing the need of further and multifaceted development, Centrum Kultury Podgórza is already working more intensively with partners from other regions of Europe (e.g. Leisure Centre in Košice in Slovakia, Culture Centre in Vilnius in Lithuania, cooperation with the Culture Department of Municipality of Gorodok in Ukraine).
