We were warmly welcomed at La Carcel_Segovia Creative Centre by Clara Lequero, Mayor of Segovia, Marifé Santiago Bolanos, Counsellor for Culture and Elvira Adeva, Communication director and co-ordinator of the Seminar.
"Is social innovation gentrification of cultural and social activism?"
We started the first day with examples of encouraging youth to engage in entrepreneurship with Ivan Diego from Vanalon Tech City, and moved on to Culture in Education and how to ensure sustainability through cooperation and networking with Raluca Iacob from Metro Cub.
We discovered how personal and political investment in culture enhances its role as catalyst for local development with Clara Lequero, mayor of Segovia, Concha Hernandez from Conde Duque Cultural Centre and Céline D'Ambrosio from the Association of Cultural Centres (Brussels/Wallonia) – ACC asbl.
We explored engaging in trans-sectorial work, in order to develop activities and tools that allow us to better understand each other with Zuzana Ernst Moncayo and Dylan Buttler from ArtSocialSpace Brunnenpassage and Christian Cherene from BeAnotherLab.
"Art is not neutral"
During an open discussion we imagined solutions to keep cooperation and communication open during politically difficult situations, with Eleonore Hefner for Cultural exchange project QUATTROLOGE and Mikhail Barzykin from Praxis.
The second day we were impressed and moved learning about ways to work and reach professionalism in theatre with people with disabilities from Marta Cantero Díaz, Paladio Arte Association and to reach out to people in prison and create bridges between contemporary art and broken lives with Mery Cuesta, who presented her project Balsamo y Fuga.
Members of the Spanish Network of Cultural Centres had the opportunity to discover more about European Programmes accessible for cultural organisations, with Miguel Sánchez from the Creative Europe Desk.
Familiarity promotes the blurring of self and others in the neural representation of threat.
We had the privilege to attend a filmed rehearsal at Palladio Theatre, to visit La Carcel_Segovia Creative Centre and to learn about "paloteo" with Arantza Rodrigo from the Museo de Paloteo.
The presentations made during the Seminar, a creative report, photos and a short video will be posted soon online.
We would like to thank again Elvira Adeva, all the contributors and the participants for making this event an interesting, engaging and dynamic event.
