Between 2024 and 2026, our Erasmus+ project FULCRUM will bring together socio-cultural workers from across Europe in a series of three brainstorming sessions which we called "Visions for the Future". These gatherings are designed to offer a collaborative space for exchanging ideas, envisioning the socio-cultural center of the future, and laying the groundwork for making this vision a reality. The objective of the brainstorms is not only to kick-start a dialogue among diverse participants, but also to collectively tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for socio-cultural centres.

During the inaugural brainstorm, which took place online on March 5th, 2024, the use of "scanning rooms" allowed for an in-depth exploration of a number of concerns, observations, and reflections shared by participants. This process provided a comprehensive snapshot of the current situation faced by socio-culture workers, serving as a critical starting point for future-oriented thinking. Recognising the importance of understanding our past and confronting our present, the session aimed to equip participants with the insights needed to navigate and shape emerging futures.

Through this report, our goal is to delve into these insights further, offering both an analysis and a hopeful outlook on how we might address these challenges and progress collectively.
