Caucasus Cinema
Caucasus Cinema is a free, intensive cross-cultural filmmaking workshop and film festival held across five regions of the Republic of Georgia. Bringing together thirty filmmakers—half local, half international—each week, participants are provided with minimal accommodation and form small crews to create short films. Over the course of a week, they produce 10 to 15 films in collaboration with the local community, culminating in screenings held in the villages where they were made. This process is repeated for five weeks, resulting in over 250 short films since 2022. More than 100 filmmakers from over 30 countries have taken part, working alongside Georgian peers and engaging local residents. The community is actively involved, with youth and artists invited to participate, often drawing large audiences to the weekly screenings.
