The Federació d'Ateneus de Catalunya (FAC) was founded in 1983 as an entity to group all the cultural centres in Catalonia, which are called "ateneus".
The organisation gives visibility to this type of association model, which promotes and enhances Catalan culture. They also work as interlocutors with the administration for the centres they represent, and provide services to these associations, to help them in aspects such as accounting, taxation, legal, insurance, digital development, architecture and communication.
