Teatrul Senzorial

Teatrul Senzorial is a non-profit NGO active since 2015 in Timișoara, Romania. It coordinates projects using participatory art forms, primarily Sensorial Labyrinth Theatre (SLT), to engage communities in large-scale immersive, interactive, and sensorial theatre productions. The artistic process incorporates art therapy, non-formal learning, and expressive therapy.

Through its productions, Teatrul Senzorial pursues multiple goals: increasing community participation and solidarity, fostering compassion and inclusion, addressing mental health challenges, promoting lifelong learning, and developing emotional intelligence. Each project involves numerous volunteers, creating alternative theatre experiences with a transformational impact on audiences. The organisation has developed its own methodology combining diverse theatrical techniques, workshops, and participatory processes, providing a free and accessible laboratory theatre environment.

The mission is to create safe spaces where individuals are guided towards personal transformation, contributing to a more inclusive and balanced society. These safe spaces are achieved through art therapy, non-formal education, and the Sensory Theatre method.
