Teatro Onlife for Hospitalised Children
The project involves testing the inclusive and interactive digital platform called TEATRO ONLIFE, which Aida Foundation is developing for schools, to also reach hospitalised children. Thanks to the collaboration with ABEO of Verona, children suffering from cancer will be able, from their hospital rooms using tablets, to stream a 3D theatre performance and interact with actors and with other children who are in schools. TEATRO ONLIFE performances combine performing arts, streaming and gaming.
During the Covid-19 pandemic AIDA Foundation experimented with an online theatre format to provide educational content and social opportunities for children and families. Building upon this experimentation, thanks to funding obtained from the Veneto Region, the Aida Foundation is developing for schools the digital platform TEATRO ONLIFE, a new hybrid and innovative form of digital theatre that combines performing arts, streaming and gaming. The content offered by the digital theatre concerns storytelling that develops the European Key Competence and enhances self-expression.
With this project called TEATRO ONLIFE FOR HOSPITALISED CHILDREN Aida Foundation, in collaboration with ABEO of Verona, aims to test the interactive edutainment platform for hospitalised children: they will be able, from their hospital rooms using tablets, to stream a 3D theatre performance and interact with actors and with other children who are in schools. This project is relevant because the interactive edutainment platform TEATRO ONLIFE is an innovative educational and cultural service for hospitalised children. It enables them to increase socio-cultural inclusion, life skills and key competences.
Following the trial phase at the hospital in Verona, TEATRO ONLIFE can be implemented in other hospitals to benefit hospitalised children, as well as for children with physical disabilities who are unable to attend traditional theatre performances.
