Cultural Organisations and AI: Ethics and Practices

On September 20th, from 10:00 until 11:00 CET, in the context of the Creative Skills Week 2024, dive into a live meeting of our working group on Digital Ethics, which has been running since 2020. On the agenda: cultural organisations’ reactions to the AI avalanche. We’ll talk about conflicted practices, ethical questions, and ownership of tools and data. We argue that skills and capacity-building for new digital trends must be critical, cultural and collective, and we’ll look at how to move in that direction. No previous tech or other knowledge needed, but your experiences, dilemmas and expertise are very welcome.

The meeting will be facilitated by Nancy Von Breska Ficovic, art historian, independent expert on culture for the European Commission, and ethics advisor on digital practices in the cultural field.
