In the context of the annual budget procedure for 2024, the Council of the European Union has proposed to reduce Creative Europe financing by 40 million EUR. While having barely any impact on the EU's budget savings at a time of strained finances, such a cut will significantly weaken the only EU programme dedicated to cross-border and transnational cultural cooperation, and cause damage to Europe's creative and cultural sector.
To highlight the threats that such a development would pose, we have joined a group of 70 cultural networks and organisations spearheaded by Culture Action Europe in signing a letter of concern addressed to EU leaders. Read and help us disseminate it.
