Over the past months, a growing need arose at the ENCC office to address an issue that has been gaining more and more prominence, not only in the public discourse at large, but also, notably, within the cultural and creative sector. This article by our communications officer Irene Fici provides a general introduction to so-called artificial intelligence, with particular reference to generative systems, and attempts to make the case for a critical and informed approach to the phenomenon.
In the second part of the article, Romain Boonen and Lucy Perineau, two professionals active at the intersection between culture and digital, share their concerns, hopes and recommendations.
