The ENCC School of Advocacy
While the main cultural policies in Europe are developed at the national and local levels, European programmes can significantly influence local cultural practices.
With the ENCC School of Advocacy, we want to offer a space where cultural workers can develop the skills needed to advocate effectively, get access to the latest updates on legislation processes in the cultural sector, and work towards need-oriented solutions.
Spanning the next four years, this training programme will bring together junior and senior cultural workers who wish to better understand the European decision-making process in the cultural policy field. Through expert input, exchange of good practices, and hands-on exercises, we will explore the world of European advocacy together. A total of five interactive online sessions will provide the backbone for this path. Combined with ad-hoc online "coffee chats" providing practical tips and insights on hot topics, as well as consultations on specific issues, this programme offers you a great opportunity to develop your own advocacy work and take active part in shaping the ENCC advocacy strategy.
The five sessions of the School will focus on the following topics:
Session 1: Setting the ground - Advocacy basic (May 22nd, 2025) Register here
Session 2: The change we want to see - How to identify and analyse problems in a structured way
Session 3: Who is on the same boat - The importance of a structured stakeholder mapping
Session 4: Bringing your message across - How to work on tailored solutions
Session 5: Closing the circle - What's next?
This programme is free of charge and is only open to ENCC members (both full and associate).
After each session of the School of Advocacy, attendants will receive a digital certificate.
The coffee chats and online consultations are complementary, optional activities that can deepen your understanding of advocacy and create opportunities to become an active member of the ENCC advocacy community.
