Carpintarias de São Lázaro

Carpintarias de São Lazaro (CSL) is a consequentially independent and multi-disciplinary culture center in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal. It was originally a furniture manufacturer and the non-profit CSL opened it’s doors to the public in 2019 after signing a 30 year agreement with the City of Lisbon. CSL program includes visual arts, music, performing arts, conferences, gastronomy. The cultural offering is regularly featured in local and international press and media. Since it’s first opening CSL has welcomed more than 50 visual arts exhibitions, 150 concerts and performing arts events, and several artist residencies which have been supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Luso-American Foundation. The renovation was completed in 2018 and resulted in a unique combination of two main levels, a mezanine, and rooftop overlooking the center of the city.
