Église

Église APS is a non-profit cultural association founded in 2016 in Palermo, dedicated to promoting contemporary visual culture through education, residencies, exhibitions, and professional exchanges connecting local, national, and international networks.

Based in the Kalsa district, Église operates from a deconsecrated baroque church housing a co-working space, a garden, and the first photography-specialist library in Sicily. It is a space of cultural resistance where photography activates artistic, social, political, and intersectional reflection. Partners include the University of Palermo, Save the Children, and the Fanzinoteca di Zines.

Since 2025, Église co-produces the Scuola di Restanza e Futuro, a free programme for young people aged 18–28 that explores alternative futures by weaving together artistic practices, activism, and imagination exploring "restanza" as a political and transformative choice to stay and build in marginalised territories.
