Fundación Uxio Novoneyra
The Uxío Novoneyra Foundation (FUN), recognised as an organisation of national interest since 2009, is dedicated to preserving the poetic, artistic, and environmental legacy of Uxío Novoneyra while fostering cultural and socio-territorial development. Committed to the study and promotion of literature, particularly poetry, the foundation also engages with language, painting, performing arts, and historical and political research. Through collaborations with institutions, administrations, and local communities, it encourages critical reflection and scholarly exploration of Novoneyra’s work and broader cultural themes.
Environmental conservation is central to its mission, with a particular focus on the UNESCO Geopark and Biosphere Reserve of the Courel Mountains—a landscape deeply intertwined with Novoneyra’s identity. The foundation runs awareness initiatives that highlight both its cultural and ecological significance. A key element of its work is the Uxío Novoneyra birthplace house and territory museum, which, once restored, will serve as a multifunctional cultural space.
As part of its commitment to regional revitalisation, the FUN leads various socio-cultural initiatives, including the Festival dos Eidos, held annually in summer and autumn.
A key element of its work is the Uxío Novoneyra birthplace house and territory museum, which, once restored, will serve as a multifunctional cultural space. On an international level, the foundation promotes the cultural and socio-cultural realities of inland Galicia (NUTS ES11/2), forging partnerships across Europe to support cultural preservation, innovation, and exchange.
