Magnet

Magnet is an international educational and cultural center based in rural Serbia (Veliki Gaj), dedicated to empowering rural communities through culture, art, and social innovation. As a cooperative of over 15 international professionals from various fields, they focus on strengthening independent cultural spaces, fostering contemporary artistic practices, and promoting gender equality through inclusive and participatory projects. Their work supports cultural decentralisation by connecting rural cultural centers, young artists, and local communities, enabling them to engage in co-creation and exchange. Through residencies, mentorships, and artistic productions, Magnet provides tools for sustainable cultural development, while advocating for transformative cultural governance and self-sustainability in the cultural field.
