Music of Armenia

Bjni, Armenia

Music of Armenia (MoA) is an organisation focused on preserving, promoting, and developing Armenian musical heritage. It supports Armenian musicians and music through concerts, festivals, and collaborative projects.

In October 2015, MoA launched its first festival, the Yerevan Duduk Festival, dedicated to the traditional Armenian instrument, the duduk. In June 2016, it introduced the Sayat Nova Festival, highlighting the music of Sayat Nova and the ashough tradition. In September 2016, MoA established the Sharakan Festival, focused on Armenian sacred music and held at Tatev Monastery.

In 2018, MoA initiated Women’s Musical Month, an annual series of events dedicated to Armenian female musicians and their work.

MoA continues to organise events and activities that document, present, and connect different aspects of Armenian music, both past and present.
