POGON - Zagrebački centar za nezavisnu kulturu i mlade

Co-founded by the City of Zagreb and Operacija grad, POGON is a hybrid institution combining public funding with independent programming and participatory governance. It supports contemporary art, independent culture, and youth initiatives by providing infrastructure—chiefly Jedinstvo Hall, a former pump factory on the Sava embankment—alongside technical and organisational support for non-profit cultural programmes. Working through partnerships, POGON empowers diverse communities and promotes democratic, inclusive, and sustainable cultural practices. Its mission is to strengthen the independent cultural scene and expand public space for critical, experimental, and socially engaged artistic work.
