Skein Press
Skein curates and publishes thought-provoking stories not commonly featured in Irish cultural life. We are passionate about storytelling and counter-storytelling in all its forms and facilitate writers and artists to bring their work to the public through traditional publishing as well as other media. We invest in artists, reach out to new audiences, and contribute to building a more dynamic Irish literary culture.
We believe in the power of stories to change the world. Storytelling is at the heart of what it means to be human; it is how we consider new ideas, offer insights into universal experiences, and share our perspectives. Established in 2017, the press was formed with the aim of providing a publishing platform for writers and storytellers traditionally underrepresented in Irish cultural life. Over the past nine years, we have published beautiful books, thought-provoking podcasts and documentaries, invested in writers and artists through our Play if Forward Fellowship and partnered with a range of organisations to spotlight the work of writers and storytellers whose voices otherwise would gone unheard. We have created new resonances through partnerships, translations, exhibitions, and collaborations beyond our greatest hopes.
