In a city characterised by social and institutional divisions, opportunities for interaction between youth remain limited. This project brings together young people to explore dialogue, identity and urban space through art therapy and photography workshops. Through a series of creative workshops, participants will reflect on their experiences of the city and document them through photography, storytelling and art works. This encourages empathy, mutual understanding and dialogue among youth from divided and polarized community.
The project aims to foster dialogue and mutual understanding among young people in Mostar through creative and participatory methods. Young people are particularly affected by systematic segregations, yet they also represent key agents of change in building more inclusive communities. This initiative introduces a creative and safe place where youth can meet, reflect and communicate through art therapy and photography. The workshops will engage 50 young participants, while combining the elements of art therapy, visual storytelling and dialogue facilitation. Participants will explore themes such as identity, belonging, memory and shared spaces in the city. Through photography, they will document how they experience and interpret the places for dialogue in Mostar. Using the exhibition to present art therapy and photography works, the project is transforming personal reflections into public cultural content by encouraging broader community engagement with the topic of polarization and dialogue. Visitors of exhibition will be invited to reflect on how young people experience the city and how shared spaces can become points of connection rather than division.
