CCE Lab is a free, public programme of participatory art workshops held outdoors in Figueres. It engages local residents in creative activities that explore identity, community, and place. By providing accessible opportunities for people to connect through art, the project fosters dialogue, social connection, and civic engagement. As a pilot initiative, CCE Lab also tests a long-term vision for a community-driven cultural platform in the region that supports creativity and collective participation.
CCE Lab is a free public programme of participatory art workshops in Figueres, Catalonia, using creative practices to strengthen connections between people, place, and community. Across four workshops, participants explore identity, resistance, and collective action, while co-creating artworks that respond to the social and ecological life of their city. Workshops take place in public spaces, are open to all, and require no prior registration, ensuring accessibility and spontaneity. The programme particularly invites young people and voices often underrepresented in cultural spaces, amplifying diverse perspectives and fostering meaningful dialogue. As a pilot initiative, CCE Lab tests the long-term vision of Centre Cultural Empordà: a community-driven cultural platform that empowers residents, nurtures creativity, and builds lasting social connections through shared artistic experiences.
