This project creates a space for dialogue between the Greek community of Ukraine and Greek diaspora organisations in Germany through film screenings, public discussions and cultural presentations. By sharing personal stories of displacement, identity and resilience during the war, the project aims to build understanding across communities and strengthen intercultural dialogue in times of growing polarisation in Europe.
The project aims to create meaningful dialogue between the Greek community of Ukraine and Greek diaspora organisations in Germany through a series of cultural events centred around the documentary film Homecoming. The film explores the experience of the Greeks of Ukraine - a community historically displaced from Crimea to the Azov region and now once again forced to leave their homes due to Russia’s full-scale invasion. The project will include film screenings, public discussions, and presentations about the culture and history of the Greeks of the Azov region. These events will create a space for reflection on identity, displacement, and belonging, while fostering connections between diaspora communities and raising awareness about minority cultures affected by war. By bringing together artists, community members and cultural organisations, the initiative aims to strengthen intercultural dialogue and build new partnerships between communities across Europe.
