Let’s Talk About (LTA) fosters community dialogue in Brussels around human rights, interconnected global injustices, and both historical and contemporary forms of colonial and neocolonial power. Blending panel talks with open dialogue, we center voices that are often unheard: activists, diaspora communities, and grassroots organizers. Each talk combines critical reflection with shared meals, fostering connection and solidarity. LTA is multilingual, accessible and rooted in the belief that democracy lives in conversation, encounter and collective learning.
LTA is a dialogue-based initiative that strengthens democracy through critical, community-centered conversation. An LTA event combines a panel discussion with participatory exchange: speakers from diaspora communities and activist networks share experiences and political context, followed by reflections and contributions from participants. LTA addresses underexposed themes such as (neo)colonialism, structural racism, gender-based violence, and ongoing conflicts. Past talks have focused on Palestine, Congo, Sudan, the Yazidi and Roma, femicide and transnational feminist movements. LTA explores structural and personal connections between global injustice and local realities. In Brussels, migration histories often blur the line between local and global, making distant conflicts deeply felt. LTA does not claim neutrality; it creates a space for learning and solidarity. Events are free and multilingual. Each talk concludes with a shared meal inspired by the diverse backgrounds represented, offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. LTA follows a bottom-up methodology, amplifying less-heard voices and encouraging dialogue to contribute to a socially just democratic culture.
