LtP is a participatory performance-installation developed by SubLab Scene and the NoMads Collective, bringing together artistic and socially engaged practices from Croatia and the Netherlands. The project explores the experiences of women and mothers in societies shaped by militarisation. Through video interviews and participatory performance, it transforms personal stories into a shared reflection, highlighting women’s resilience and fostering critical awareness. By questioning societal expectations and encouraging dialogue, the project promotes artistic response to global tensions.
LtP is a performance and installation project exploring the archetype of the mother facing the possibility of her child going to war. Rather than reproducing narratives of heroism or national pride, the work focuses on doubt, fear and resistance, opening space for critical reflection on militarisation and the pressures placed on women and mothers. The project is developed by SubLab Scene (Rijeka) in collaboration with No-Mads Collective (Amsterdam), bringing together Croatian and Dutch artists working across performance, dance, video and socially engaged art. At the core of the project are interviews with women from different European backgrounds who share personal reflections on motherhood, war memory and social expectations. Their testimonies form the emotional and documentary foundation of the work. The project combines immersive performance and installation. Audiences move through symbolic spaces;a kitchen, a trench and a public square encountering performers, objects, letters and projected images. By transforming personal testimonies into a shared artistic experience, the project invites audiences to reflect on how militarisation enters homes and everyday life.
