Maalski-festival,-Neighborhood-Festival
A community-driven cultural initiative connecting art with neighborhood life through workshops, collaborative creation, and public events, culminating in a three-day festival. Its relevance lies in its grassroots and participatory approach. The project reclaims neighborhood spaces for dialogue, creativity, and civic expression, giving residents, especially underrepresented voices, the chance to shape the program. Through collaborative art and community-led actions, it builds trust and solidarity, turning the socio-cultural centre into a space of empowerment and shared responsibility.
An inclusive festival initiative that connects the arts with the local community through workshops, performances, and exhibitions. It promotes hands-on participation and creativity across generations, encouraging a deeper appreciation of artistic expression. Community-driven at its core, the festival collaborates with local cultural organizations to showcase and support local talent. In doing so, it strengthens the neighborhood’s cultural fabric and remains responsive to community needs. The program embraces diverse artistic forms, film, visual arts, literature, performance and community-driven projects, offering audiences opportunities to discover and engage with different creative practices. A strong emphasis is placed on intergenerational collaboration, bringing together tradition and innovation to foster dialogue and shared learning. This exchange encourages participants to learn from one another’s experiences while developing new creative skills and perspectives. The festival aims to expand public access to the arts, overcoming social and economic barriers while promoting sustainable and scalable models of audience engagement that leave a lasting cultural impact.
