Mattering Worlds is a media art residency and public program in Yerevan that brings artists, researchers, and communities together to explore the ethical, ecological, and democratic impacts of contemporary technologies and foster media literacy, artistic experimentation, and more inclusive digital cultures.
Ars Techne operates as a networked socio-cultural platform in Yerevan, collaborating with partner cultural spaces to host residencies, workshops, and community programs that bring artists, researchers, and local residents into dialogue. Mattering Worlds is an interdisciplinary residency and public program exploring how digital infrastructures intersect with ecological systems, social relations, and democratic life. The program brings artists into direct collaboration with local communities through workshops and participatory experiments exploring how digital technologies shape everyday life, media environments, and democratic participation. Projects explore topics such as artificial intelligence, media manipulation, digital platforms, and environmental sensing technologies, examining how these systems influence information, perception, and ecological awareness. The project also demonstrates how socio-cultural centres can use artistic experimentation to engage communities in critical discussions about digital technologies.
