Over two days in June, we transform Tempelhofer Feld into a space of encounter and creative dialogue. Building on the field’s history, from exclusion and displacement to citizen-led preservation, we invite activists, neighbors, and local initiatives to walk, learn, and co-create. Through storytelling, blended art and dialogue based workshops, print-making, music and shared meals, we open new channels of empathy and collaboration that counter polarization and strengthen democratic culture.
Our 48 hr cultural experiment turns Tempelhofer Feld into a living classroom for inclusive dialogue. Together with cultural partners we bring grassroots initiatives, artists, and political groups into shared movement, reflection, creation. Day 1 centers on a historical, storytelling walking tour uncovering narratives of exclusion & resistance, from Nazi use of the site & current refugee accommodation to its transformation into a symbol of citizen victory and public space. Practical workshops & artistic labs help foster dialogue through: methods for narrative change, creative campaigning, community organizing & conflict transformation. Participants, ranging from local eco-activists to migrant-led initiatives, exchange experiences and strategies. By blending art, political learning, and embodied practices of listening, we transform polarization into curiosity & collective imagination. The result: a network better equipped to cooperate, communicate & sustain democratic participation. Day 2 is open to the public and features newcomer, youth, queer & BiPoC artists as well as print-making, food, family programme & interactive stage programme presenting the Day 1 initiatives & outcomes
