Ready-when-you-are
SMouTh’s artistic team recently began working with AI and digital tools through the EFFEA-funded project Who The F*ck Wrote This?, an AI poetry slam that will be presented at European festivals. While experimenting with these tools, questions quickly emerged around authorship, copyright, artistic labor and platform visibility. This project opens those questions to the community through three artistic labs and a public discussion, inviting artists, experts and audiences to examine how AI enters cultural production and what ethical limits or responsibilities may follow.
SMouTh organises a series of practical encounters around the use of AI and digital tools in artistic creation. The project consists of three thematic labs (summer 2026) and one public round table (MPArt festival, September 2026), developed in dialogue with the experience gained through Who The F*ck Wrote This?, SMouTh’s participatory AI poetry slam, which will be presented at MPArt Festival, Digitalkunst Festival and InShadow Festival. The three artistic labs focus on: - AI & Copyright - AI & Artistic Labour, and - AI & Environmental Impact. These themes are addressed through hands-on practice. Participants will create short films, performances, spoken word pieces and texts using digital tools and AI. The creative process itself becomes the ground where questions of authorship, training data, visibility on platforms and working conditions in the cultural sector appear and are collectively discussed. The round table opens these questions to a wider audience, bringing artists, professionals who work with digital tools, and the public into a shared conversation around digital ethics, social media, and the role of cultural spaces in shaping responsible uses of technology.
