Rizoma-Digital
Over the course of five months, various online activities will be carried out, including: inviting specialists to conduct workshops on the project's theme, planning an effective digital strategy for these topics, and producing 'reels' style videos explaining the impact of fake news and the rise of the far-right in creating myths regarding the Romani community. Educational texts will be published on RIZOMA's social media and website. Furthermore, online talking circles will be organized, featuring Q&A sessions for viewers to discuss the theme.
This project aims to promote critical digital citizenship as an essential tool in combating disinformation and the rise of the far-right. Over five months, the initiative focuses on raising public awareness about the impact of fake news on the perception of minorities, with a particular emphasis on deconstructing myths regarding the Romani community. Through an integrated digital strategy, the project seeks to dismantle extremist and populist narratives by promoting media literacy, digital ethics, and intercultural dialogue in frequently polarized environments. The methodology is based on the use of culture and audiovisual media as forms of democratic resistance. Activities include workshops with specialists, the publication of educational texts on RIZOMA’s website and social media, and the production of 'reels' style videos explaining the link between the rise of radicalism and the creation of prejudice. To foster active participation, online talking circles will be organized with direct audience interaction. The project culminates in a YouTube debate titled: 'Disinformation, the Far-Right, and Human Rights: What Kind of Democracy Are We Building Online?'.
