Taz-Checklist enables citizens to evaluate political candidates independently using a digital tool.
Taz-Checklist is a non-partisan civic technology initiative designed to strengthen informed and evidence-based citizen participation in presidential elections. In many contexts, public debate is shaped by emotional rhetoric, misinformation or clientelist dynamics. Taz-Checklist addresses this by providing a structured and transparent framework that enables citizens to independently evaluate political candidates using clearly defined and publicly documented criteria.
The project promotes accountable and rational democratic participation without endorsing any party or candidate. It supports civil society, media and academic actors through a shared analytical framework facilitating civic education and structured debate.
The initiative unfolds in three phases: methodological refinement with governance safeguards; development of a digital platform enabling structured evaluation and transparent scoring; and pilot deployment in selected Francophone Sub-Saharan African contexts with iterative improvements.
