The double meaning of cocktail here aims to referencing that this is an in-person activity, to by pass digital algorithms which divide us and our views and understanding of European democratic values. This activity will bring people together in the format of non-formal seminars with drinks and discussion led by experts to discuss about how the digital algorithms and now even more by our daily use of Artificial intelligence has in impact on jeopardising our understanding of a democratic Europe.
Decoding the Divide: Algorithms, AI, and the Future of EU Societies This 12-month cultural initiative explores the invisible forces shaping European discourse. As digital technology and AI increasingly dictate how we consume information, "Decoding the Divide" tackles the urgent challenge of algorithmic polarization and its impact on social cohesion within the EU. The program features four non-formal seminars led by interdisciplinary experts in technology, sociology, and digital ethics. Moving beyond traditional lectures, these sessions prioritize active citizen participation, inviting attendees to dissect the mechanics of echo chambers and filter bubbles. By blending expert insight with grassroots dialogue, the project empowers participants to recognise and navigate the biases embedded in digital platforms. True to VOW’s "Think & Do" philosophy, this series aims to transform passive tech users into resilient, informed digital citizens. Together, we will bridge the algorithmic gap, encouraging a more empathetic and unified European society through education, critical thinking, and shared cultural experience. The non-formal seminars will be turned into YouTube videos
