VOICES ACROSS GENERATIONS: Community Cultural Activism in Kranj

VOICES ACROSS GENERATIONS transforms ZKD Kranj's 120-association network into a platform for civic empowerment. Through co-creation workshops, public performances, an Intergenerational Activist Archive, and a participatory Community Cultural Charter presented to local authorities, the project channels culture into democratic action. Built on proven practice: on World Rare Disease Day 2026, ZKD Kranj mobilised 200 singers for a humanitarian concert and a formal civic Appeal to parliamentary candidates. Up Grants will scale this into a replicable European model.
ZKD Kranj unites 120 cultural associations in Kranj, reaching 500–2,000 participants annually. VOICES ACROSS GENERATIONS builds on proven capacity — most recently our concert 'Ko igra srce, poje upanje' (28 Feb 2026), where 200 singers performed on World Rare Disease Day alongside a civic Appeal to parliamentary candidates. Five activities: (1) 6 Community Cultural Action Labs — co-creation workshops where youth, elderly, and marginalised participants develop artistic responses to democratic erosion; (2) 3 Public Cultural Interventions in Kranj's squares, using theatre, storytelling, and music to reclaim public space for civic dialogue; (3) Intergenerational Activist Archive — youth and elders co-produce a publicly accessible civic memory resource; (4) Community Cultural Charter — collectively authored with NGOs, schools, and the Municipality, formally presented to local authorities; (5) Methodology guide disseminated via ENCC and Amateo networks. Partners: Mestna občina Kranj, local schools, NGOs, member associations, and Amateo (European network for active citizenship through arts).
