Your voice in our publication on meaningful and sustainable participation
During the next online meeting of our Inclusion and Accessibility Working Group, participants will be invited to take an active role in refining our upcoming publication titled Aiming for Meaningful Participation Sustainably.
Written by our Policy and Advocacy Officer Julia Kasten and based on the dedicated workshop that was held at Against the Tide back in September, our upcoming article will explore how socio-cultural centres can foster genuine participation among marginalised groups and youth. It will addresse key themes including trust-building, intergenerational exchange, hierarchism, risk, and the creation of “brave” spaces.

In this live discussion, Julia will present the article’s main ideas and insights drawn from the September workshop. Joined by Sophie Dowden, facilitator of the Working Group, she will invite participants to respond openly to the following questions:
What resonates with your own experience?
What feels missing or could be developed further?
How can these reflections help make the article more grounded and relevant to ENCC members’ daily realities?
Your input will directly shape the final version of the article to ensure it reflects the richness and diversity of our shared practice. Registered participants will receive a draft copy of the article ahead of the session.
