Between 2024 and 2025, the Make it Happen training programme gathered twenty-four cultural workers representing a wide range of socio-cultural organisations from across Europe. The aim of the training was to strengthen the capacity of such organisations to engage their audiences and communities in sustainable and participatory ways.

Browse the resources that stemmed from that experience, identifying strategies and approaches to recurring challenges faced by socio-cultural centres when they embark on the community building journey. Reflecting the personal experiences and perceptions of trainees, the content of the booklet is particularly relevant for small organisations operating in precarious conditions. You will find a booklet, reels with key takeaways from the training, as well as audio interviews with trainers Jonathan Goodacre and Niels Righolt who share their views and insights on community building and audience development, recorded live from the training’s launch in Vienna.
