On May 22nd, we'll hold the first of five sessions of our new School of Advocacy. During this introductory session, designed to set the ground for future work, we will discover the basics of EU cultural advocacy, answering questions such as: who are the relevant actors when it comes to cultural policy-making a the European level? How to reach out to them? How is European policy related to our daily practices? What expertise do we have and how can we learn from each other?

The first two sessions of the School, in May and November 2025, will focus on the experiences of participants, with a need-oriented approach. By sharing good practices, but also failure stories, the sessions will provide a space to better understand the common challenges cultural centres are facing. Through input from experts and hands-on activities, participants will improve their advocacy competencies so they can contribute to policy-making at the European level, and actively participate in ENCC's advocacy work.

To bridge between the different session of the Advocacy School, we will also organise coffee chats focusing on specifically selected topics that might come up during the sessions. Please feel free to share any wishes or ideas by reaching out to Julia, our advocacy and policy officer, at julia.kasten@encc.eu.

The first Coffee Chat is scheduled for April 24th. Register here
